Annual Membership Party!

Confluence Gallery celebrates the arts by throwing a party for members and non-members alike. In store is a multi-media/folk performance by the New Wilderness Project with good food, drink and friends.

Free for all current members!
$35 for non-members, which includes an annual membership to Confluence Gallery and Art Center.

Call For Artists!

Confluence Gallery & Art Center invites artists to participate in a 10”x10” show called Anonymous, opening January 12th until March 15th, 2013. Artists are invited to create up to 10 pieces, each measuring 10”x10” including the frame – no more, no less. If the piece is 3D, the depth can be no more than 10”. Pieces created can be mounted on the wall or free-standing – your choice. They can incorporate any materials (even sound and light). Every piece will be sold for $100. Ideally, the artists’ names will not be revealed until the piece has sold.

DEADLINE:
Submissions are due to Confluence on Friday, November 2nd by 6pm.
Submissions must include:
1.       Completed contract
2.       Artist resume
3.       Artist statement
4.       The number of pieces you would like to include in the exhibit
5.       Jpeg image of one 10”x10” piece to be included in publicity. Note that, if a jpeg image is not submitted, it is possible that your work will not be included in the exhibit’s promotional materials. You are also welcome to send more than one jpeg image, but only one is required.

We will begin to install the exhibit on Tuesday, January 8th, so your artwork must be delivered to Confluence on Monday, January 7th, between 9am and 4pm.

Non-member artists receive 60% of the sale. Members receive 65%.

After School Arts

Kids in grades 3-6 develop art making skills and creativity using a range of materials and techniques. It’s an excellent way to wind down the day, and relax with creative projects and games.

Margaret Kingston is a K-12 certified and experienced Art Educator and is excited to expand visual arts learning opportunities in the Methow Valley. This fall she’ll lead young students, grades 3-6, in an after school arts program on Wednesdays and Fridays, starting October 3, from 3:30-5:30. This program is scheduled to compliment the after school program at Methow Valley Elementary School which runs Tuesdays and Thursdays. Kids will develop art making skills and creativity using a variety of materials and techniques. Details about each week’s theme will be posted on the Confluence website, www.confluencegallery.com.

Shoot With What You Got 2

Cost: $75

EA provides accessible understanding of photography, equipment and how to get great results from whatever you shoot with, be it fancy digital SLR, a point and shoot or an I-thingy. Age 11 and up. $75. Register by Oct 1.

Surface Design, Clothes to Dye For!

Event Location: TwispWorks

Cost: $50/class

A two part dyeing and sewing workshop with Sara Ashford, Donna Keyser and Lisa Doran. Class one introduces fabric embellishment techniques, design and materials, including instant indigo, procion, natural dyes and fabric paints. The October class teaches how to use your fabric to create stylish clothes.

Twisp Art Walk: A Twispted Treasure Hunt

On Saturday, September 22 Twisp Art and Cultural community provides an array of activity in downtown Twisp. You are invited to partake in the (free) creativity and fun as you stroll through art openings, listen to live music, chat with artists, enjoy refreshments and plunge into a treasure hunt.
